Top five DAM Health Stadium moments... so far
Dam Health Stadium has been rocking so far this season, so we take a look back at the five best moments from the opening rounds of action at the club's new home!
That first run out!
It all became real when the team entered DAM Health Stadium for the very first time in the Scottish Building Society Pre-Season Series clash against Newcastle Falcons in September.
With a near-capacity crowd on their feet, the team met a cauldron of noise, amplified by a brand-new run out track in The Prodigy's 'Invaders Must Die.'
It was a moment that everyone connected to the club will cherish with DAM Health Stadium truly open for business.
Darcy's Can-Can brace against Scarlets
No player can get a stadium bouncing like Darcy Graham, especially when that player's try track is Jacques Offenbach's 1858 operetta, 'Infernal Galop', otherwise known as the Can-Can.
With a twisting solo score in the first-half, followed up by a lighting quick line break and touchdown in the second, the star winger announced his arrival at DAM Health Stadium in style.
The Hawick man has always been a favourite among the capital support, but even more so now the Edinburgh fans can look forward to the Can-Can blaring every time they visit their new home!
Meet Ben Vellacott
Edinburgh supporters may have known a little bit about Ben Vellacott - with the scrum-half showcasing flashes of brilliance at both Gloucester and Wasps prior to his move north - however when the former Scotland age-grade star took a tap penalty from his own 22m against Scarlets, it was true 'welcome to the capital' moment!
Turning on the afterburners, Vellacott accelerated 30m into Scarlets territory, leaving a plethora of tired defenders in his wake. It was a single piece of magic that injected life back into the capital support
It was at that moment Edinburgh supporters realised they had themselves a playmaker in the No. 9 jersey
Scrum time success
The Vodacom Bulls arrived in the Scottish capital in October with a reputation for being the biggest side in the URC with devastating and formidable pack.
Enter WP Nel... The legendary tighthead was only on the park for a matter of minutes before introducing himself to the visiting pack in the best way possible.
Scrum penalty after scrum penalty kept the Bulls forwards in reverse and paved the way for an extremely important win at DAM Health Stadium.
The action on the park has been brilliant to watch so far this season, but your support and effort in turning DAM Health Stadium into a fortress we can finally call home has been special to say the least.
From first whistle to last, the capital support have played their part in driving forward Mike Blair's squad and you only have to look at the image below to see what that connection has meant.
DAM Health Stadium has given Edinburgh Rugby's supporters a voice and long may it continue!
