Three debutants selected for Summer Tour as Gilchrist named skipper

Edinburgh Rugby trio Ben Muncaster, Glen Young and Matt Currie could all make their international debuts this summer as Scotland today named a 40-man squad for the upcoming tour to South America

The uncapped cohort are three of 14 Edinburgh men named in the touring squad which is skippered by club co-captain and lock Grant Gilchrist.

Edinburgh are once again well represented in the forward pack as Pierre Schoeman (loosehead), Dave Cherry (hooker), Jamie Hodgson (lock), Magnus Bradbury, Luke Crosbie and Hamish Watson (all back-row) are all selected for fixtures against Chile and Argentina.

Meanwhile in the backs, Blair Kinghorn (stand-off), Mark Bennett (centre), Darcy Graham and Damien Hoyland (both wing) also make the travelling squad.

Scotland kickstart their four-week tour against Chile (in a Scotland A fixture) in Santiago on Saturday 25 June, before moving on to Argentina for three consecutive Tests against the Pumas.
