Scottish Building Society Player of the Month: April
The four nominees for April’s Scottish Building Society Player of the Month were today announced, giving supporters the opportunity to vote for the player that impressed them the most in the latest rounds of the United Rugby Championship and EPCR Challenge Cup.
The four players to be nominated all played significant roles as Edinburgh Rugby claimed big wins against Section Paloise and Bath in the Challenge Cup, before beating Zebre and running Ulster close in the URC, with every match being hosted at DAM Health Stadium.
Rampant prop Pierre Schoeman, Argentine star Emiliano Boffelli, club co-captain Stuart McInally, and the scintillating Mark Bennett are all nominated.
Sponsored and backed by Scottish Building Society, Edinburgh’s Main Club Partner will generously donate £500 to the winning player’s charity of choice, and present the player with a trophy to commemorate their success.
Supporters can vote for who they think should take the award using the link at the bottom of the page, before the poll closes on Friday.

Pierre Schoeman
The fan-favourite prop was at his brilliant best in April, regularly grabbing games by the scruff of the neck to put Edinburgh on the front foot, earning two Player of the Match awards in the process. With the game on the line against Bath, Schoeman seized the initiative, barrelling through the Premiership side's defence, before backing up his effort to score a vital try.
The loosehead followed up his heroics a week later, swinging the momentum in Edinburgh's favour with a crucial score against Zebre. Schoe closed out the month with an all-action display against Ulster, playing the full 80 minutes, making 99 metres in a bruising display.
Emiliano Boffelli
'King Boff' has set lofty standards in his first season at Edinburgh, and continued his fine form with another assured month. The Argentine flyer kicked off the month with a brilliant display against Bath, scoring two tries, including a gritty finish to hold off multiple Bath defenders to dot down in the corner.
Boffelli went airborne against Ulster, and was imperious under the high ball in a near-flawless performance in the rain.
Chosen Charity: Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity
Stuart McInally
Scotland internationalist McInally kick-started the month with an early score against Section Paloise, setting the tone for the match, and for Edinburgh's European double-header. The hooker was as reliable as ever in April, barely putting a foot wrong at set-piece, whilst relentless work around the park.
The club co-captain was particularly impressive against Bath, making 22 tackles in a crucial knock-out game.
Chosen Charity: Children's Hospice Association Scotland
Mark Bennett
Outside-centre Bennett sparkled in April, racking up four tries in three appearances. 'Benzo' started an impressive month against Bath, where he showed his strength to keep onrushing defenders at bay to cross the line. He then produced a match-winning display against Zebre, scoring a try with a minute on the clock, before scorching the Zebre defence to make it a brace.
Bennett showed all of his quality against Ulster to score his fourth of the month in a losing cause, chipping over the Ulster defence before regathering his own kick and sliding over the line.
Chosen Charity: Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity
