Scotland quartet join touring squad
Scotland internationalists Grant Gilchrist (lock), Stuart McInally (hooker), WP Nel (prop) and Darcy Graham (wing) have joined Edinburgh Rugby’s touring squad in South Africa ahead of Saturday’s United Rugby Championship match against Emirates Lions at Emirates Airlines Park in Johannesburg (2 April, kick-off 3.05pm BST / 4.05pm local).
Having been rested for last week’s match preparation and clash against Cell C Sharks in Durban – which saw the capital club secure a 5-21 victory at Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium on Saturday evening – the quartet have now linked up with the touring squad and will be available for selection for this weekend’s match in Johannesburg.
Head Coach Mike Blair, said: “It’s great all four guys have linked up with the squad here in South Africa. Their experience will be key as we prepare to face a really strong Emirates Lions team that is playing with confidence.
“We were obviously delighted with the win against Cell C Sharks on Saturday but it’s a new week and we’re now fully focussed on the task at hand. We’ve got a massive week of training ahead of us in Durban before travelling to Johannesburg later this week.”
