2019/20 Macron kit revealed
With the 2019/20 season fast approaching, Edinburgh and the club’s technical sponsor, Macron, today unveiled the new home and alternate playing kit that the capital side will wear in the upcoming Guinness PRO14 and European Challenge Cup campaigns.
Following on from last season’s decision to adopt a new brand identity – signalling a new chapter for the club in the modern game - this year’s design sees Macron further develop that style to create a bold and classic collection.
The home jersey remains predominately in the club’s principle colour of navy blue, but includes an added pattern of striking white and orange horizontal stripes across the main body.
The new Macron Hero logo is placed on the right of the chest, while the club’s badge – which represents the turrets of Edinburgh castle - sits on the left.
The words EST 1872 – signifying the year of the city’s first representative match – are subtly detailed in a sublimated graphic on the rear of the shirt.
The shorts are navy blue with a burnt orange drawstring. The socks are the same colour with an orange horizontal stipe on the upper trim, while the Macron Hero is placed centrally on the front. The words EST 1872 reappear on the back of the socks.
The alternate jersey is once again white and includes the same navy and orange horizontal stripes that feature on the home kit.
The jersey’s sleeves are detailed with two navy blue and orange horizontal stripes, while the collar is edged – both inside and outside – in navy blue. Like the home version of the kit, EST 1872 is once again etched on the rear of the shirt.
The shorts are white with navy blue details on the side and include a burnt orange drawstring. White socks with a navy blue upper edge and white and orange horizontal stripes complete the alternate kit.
Both jerseys feature a slim cut and are predominantly made of armevo, a fabric that guarantees the players’ maximum comfort on the field. In addition, the jersey’s micromesh inserts ensure near perfect breathability.
Both the home and alternate jerseys are available in a replica version with a supporter fit and are available in-store and online today!
See our new kit in action for the first time this Saturday as we face London Scottish at BT Murrayfield in the first of our Principal and Prosper pre-season friendlies (kick-off 2pm).
