Inclusive Team set for MARIS challenge
The Edinburgh Rugby Inclusive Team are back in action this weekend as they take on touring side MARIS (Mixed Ability Rugby Invitational Side) at Raeburn Place on Saturday evening (9 April, kick-off 5.30pm).
Entry to the match is free giving supporters the chance to cheer on the Inclusive Team the day after Edinburgh Rugby take on Pau at DAM Health Stadium in the EPCR Challenge Cup.
Up against MARIS - a touring team made up local players and those from inclusive sides in Wales, England, Ireland and Spain - the match will see the Inclusive Team pull on the Edinburgh jersey once again after taking on Crusaders in the capital last weekend.
Backed by Main Club Partner, Scottish Building Society, the inclusive team is one of seven ‘unified’ teams in Scotland that bring together both able bodied players and those with a physical or learning disability, to compete in one unified outfit.
As part of the build up to Saturday's inclusive fixture, the club is hosting both sides at Friday night's European match against Pau at DAM Health Stadium (kick-off 8pm), with members from both Edinburgh and MARIS set to deliver the match ball before kick-off.
