Guinness PRO14 restart dates and fixtures confirmed
The fixture dates and kick-off times for next month's back-to-back fixtures against Glasgow Warriors at BT Murrayfield have today been confirmed by Guinness PRO14.
Richard Cockerill's side will return to league action for the first time in 176 days when they face the Warriors at BT Murrayfield on Saturday 22 August, kick-off 5.15pm, in the capital club's home 1872 Cup encounter.
Edinburgh will then gear up for an 'away' fixture against Glasgow Warriors six days later, with the second instalment of the intercity derby once again taking place at BT Murrayfield on Friday 28 August, kick-off 7.35pm.
Both fixtures are live on Premier Sports and part of an abbreviated schedule that will see the 2019-20 Guinness PRO14 regular season run to 15 rounds, followed by Semi-Finals and a Final across four consecutive weeks.
Furthermore, planning for the 2020-21 Guinness PRO14 season has begun, with October 3 identified as the provisional date for Round 1 of the new season.

David Jordan, Tournament Director of the Guinness PRO14, said: “So far we have been encouraged by the developments that have allowed all of our teams to return to training. Thanks to the great efforts of our clubs and unions, the willingness of governments and the support of our broadcasters we now have a fixture list to look forward to.
“Everyone who makes our games possible has had to adapt to a new way of working under the restrictions of the pandemic and the response of all our key stakeholders has been very impressive. With these fixtures now confirmed we are all geared to safe delivery of these games and to the welcome return of rugby after such a long period without the sport.”
