Glen Moray launch 'Homecoming Edition' whisky
Edinburgh Rugby's Official Single Malt Whisky Partner, Glen Moray, this week raised a glass to special season in the club's history by launching it's new 'Homecoming Edition' 15-year-old single malt, just in time for Christmas!
Celebrating the construction and completion of DAM Health Stadium, Glen Moray's ‘Homecoming Edition’ is a 15-year-old single malt, fully matured in sherry casks at the distillery in Elgin and features graphics of the capital team’s new home, with its signature burnt orange posts, on the pack design.
Having played all over the city, from Goldenacre to Jock’s Lodge, BT Murrayfield to Meadowbank in the club's illustrious 149-year history, the 'Homecoming Edition' bottle allows supporters to commemorate a truly unique year in style, with bottles available to purchase exclusively at IM Bottle Shop in Bonnie & Wild's Scottish Marketplace, St James Centre.
James Collins, Glen Moray’s UK Marketing Manager, hopes that loyal Edinburgh Rugby fans will snap up one of the 1000 limited edition bottles being released to mark this momentous occasion with a dram.
He commented: "As the Official Single Malt Whisky partner of Edinburgh Rugby, we’re thrilled that the club is home at last. We’re marking the moment with our very special Homecoming Edition – a glorious 15-year-old whisky that is a fitting tribute to this exciting new era for the club and for rugby in Edinburgh.
"It has been selected and bottled especially for the fans: a perfect pre or post-match warmer for the cold winter nights, with all the rich, sweet notes you’d expect from Glen Moray’s classic Speyside whisky when it has been matured in sherry casks."
Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director Douglas Struth, added: "It’s brilliant that we’re able to commemorate such a special season in the club’s history alongside our Official Single Malt Whisky Partner, Glen Moray.
"The Homecoming Edition is a truly unique and iconic bottle, which is fitting as we pay tribute to a season 149 years in the making. We hope supporters really get behind this special edition bottle this festive season and raise a glass to both Glen Moray and our homecoming year.’
Glen Moray Homecoming Edition is bottled at 40% ABV in 70cl bottles, RRP £60. The release is limited to 1000 bottles which are available to buy in person from the Inverarity Morton Bottle Shop at Bonnie & Wild in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter or by emailing: [email protected].
