Gilchrist to miss rest of season
Edinburgh Rugby co-captain and club centurion Grant Gilchrist will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury it was confirmed today.
The 30-year-old lock sustained the injury in the 60th minute of Friday night’s loss to Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun Stadium and will have surgery on the joint this weekend, the recovery period for which will take him beyond the season end.
Gilchrist also sustained a concussion in the match and remains subject to the graduated return to play protocols for the injury, which he’ll complete as appropriate during his return to fitness, under the care and guidance of the club’s medical team.
