Five tries that have shaped my career
Having penned a new deal with the club over the weekend, up-and-coming Academy graduate Jack Blain looks back on five tries that have meant the most in his career so far.
From under-18 scores to his first senior tries for the club, Blain has already celebrated a number of key milestones in his fledgling career.
A breakthrough moment
"I faced Italy at under-18 level and grabbed a chip and chase score. It was my first win for a Scotland age grade team and a bit of a breakthrough moment."
"It was the second year of under-18s rugby and it was my second try against England to win the game.
"We had played them the previous week at BT Murrayfield and they beat us comfortably - we then went on to go unbeaten in the under-18 Six Nations tournament in Wales."
Silence the French crowd
"We faced France at U20 level and my second score on the night was another chip and chase!
"It was the biggest crowd I have played in front of, the atmosphere was amazing and I made my Edinburgh debut the following week."
Facing the Haka
"We came up against New Zealand in 2019 U20 World Rugby Championship in Argentina. To play against the All Blacks was such a memorable experience and to face the Haka was just amazing."
First senior scores
"I grabbed my first senior scores against Ulster earlier this year. It was my sixth game for the club and I hadn’t scored a try yet!
"Duhan was joking with me about how good his strike rate was... so it was great to finally get over the line in an important match for us."
