Edinburgh side named for Super6 Pro-Alignment Fixture
Edinburgh's side for tomorrow's Super6 Pro-Alignment Fixture (Saturday 18 June) was named today.
Players selected from the FOSROC Super6 Sprint Series will combine into two teams representing Edinburgh and Glasgow for a Pro-Alignment fixture at Millbrae, Ayr (kick-off 1.30pm), live on the Scottish Rugby website.
The Super6 Pro-Alignment Fixture seeks to provide a closer alignment to the pro-teams for those stand-out players who have performed well across the course of the Sprint Series.
The team representing Edinburgh Rugby has been selected by the coaching team of Fergus Pringle (Watsonians), Andrew Kelly (Heriot’s Rugby) and Bruce Ruthven (Southern Knights), and is made up of players from Watsonians, Heriot's, and the Knights.
There will be an Edinburgh Rugby influence on the game, with Harrison Courtney starting at Loosehead prop, and Academy player Jed Gelderbloom named as a replacement.
On the selection of players, Fergus Pringle said:
"The pressure has been off this week and our squad have enjoyed 2 pretty light sessions together, getting to know each other and putting some plans in place for the game. Things will definitely get more serious on Saturday when players pull on the jersey and will want to represent themselves, their clubs and the East team well, with a performance they can be proud of."
