Edinburgh partner with It's Good 2 Give
The club have today teamed up with local charity, It’s Good 2 Give, who become the club’s Official Charity Partner for the 2019/20 season.
Founded in 2010, the Edinburgh-based charity provide support to young cancer patients and their families, with their Loch Venachar-based Ripple Retreat a holiday home for those undergoing cancer treatment, or those recently bereaved.
It’s Good 2 Give offer support to families on a day-to-day basis – including hospital packs, ironing vouchers and nutritional snacks – as well as the use of the purpose-built Ripple Retreat, that was constructed in 2017.
The partnership will see the charity’s logo feature on the team’s warm-up kit worn by the players on match day throughout 2019/20.
The club will also hold bucket collections at several fixtures throughout the season where supporters can donate towards It’s Good 2 Give and the fantastic work they take on throughout the city.
It’s Good 2 Give Co-founder, Lynne McNicoll, said: “As a small Edinburgh-based charity, we work with families affected by cancer all across Scotland.
“With the fantastic support given to us by Edinburgh Rugby, we hope to be able to offer more families practical help as their children undergo treatment for cancer.
“We will also be able to give more families the respite time so desperately needed at this difficult time, through a stay at our Ripple Retreat lodge on the shores of Loch Venachar.
“A huge thank you to Edinburgh Rugby for selecting us this season. We’re overwhelmed and very much looking forward to our partnership.”
Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director, Douglas Struth, said: “It’s Good 2 Give are a fantastic, local charity that offer children and their families the support they deserve in times of need.
“The work carried out and money raised by It’s Good 2 Give is truly inspirational and I couldn’t be happier that the club have chosen to team up with such a life-changing charity.
“We’re really proud to carry It’s Good 2 Give’s logo on our warm-up kit this season and we hope to raise both awareness and money for a charity who do so much for the Edinburgh community.”
The club will hold a bucket collection for It’s Good 2 Give at BT Murrayfield next weekend as Edinburgh return to Guinness PRO14 action against Scarlets on Saturday 26 October (kick-off 7.35pm).
