Edinburgh give back with P&P 1872 Cup Community Blitz
The Edinburgh Rugby squad will give back to the local community in the build-up to next weekend’s derby match against Glasgow Warriors at BT Murrayfield as the team this week take part in the Principal & Prosper 1872 Cup Community Blitz.
Twenty players are set to return to their former schools this week to take part in coaching sessions, Q&A’s and signing sessions, with each school given twenty complimentary tickets to the festive fixture on Saturday 28 December.

Scotland internationalists Stuart McInally, Ben Toolis, Jamie Bhatti, Blair Kinghorn, Matt Scott, Lewis Carmichael and WP Nel are all taking part in the community blitz, with capital schools such as Edinburgh Academy, Royal High and Currie High School set to host the day of festive fun.
Main Club Sponsor Principal & Prosper are backing the community initiative which will see the club provide 140 complimentary tickets to the seven selected schools.
Ahead of this week’s 1872 Cup Community Blitz, Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director Douglas Struth, said: “The schools in Edinburgh, Lothians and the Borders do so much to support the club, and this is our way of saying thank you in the build-up to what is a massive day of rugby at BT Murrayfield.
“A lot of the players representing this club have come through local schools and they felt it was right that they return and help out. It will be brilliant to see the boys take part in coaching sessions and Q&A’s at a variety of schools throughout the city.
“Thank you to Principal & Prosper for supporting a great community initiative – we can’t wait to welcome 140 local students to BT Murrayfield for Scottish rugby’s biggest derby!”
