Edinburgh at the Games @ The Hub
Our community team dropped by the annual Games @ The Hub event at Forrester High School last week, where rugby was once again one of the most popular sports on show throughout the day of activities.
Led by Community Manager, Ruaridh Pye, our team facilitated a fun and full day of rugby action where schools from across the capital took part in an enthralling tournament.
Eighteen primary schools took part in the touch rugby tournament on the day, however there was plenty of smiles on show as rugby proved the real winner at Edinburgh’s biggest day of school multi-sports.
Community Manager, Pye, said: “The annual Games at the Hub event that sees over 2000 kids take part.
“It has been running for several years now and we’re seeing huge growth – especially in rugby we’ve got over 200 kids from 18 schools taking part, all based from primary school in and around Edinburgh.
“It’s touch rugby that we’re playing. It’s safe and very inclusive, so everyone was having fun. We also had plenty of volunteers along from Edinburgh College, so it’s brilliant to have them along and helping out the club.
“It’s great to see so many boys and girls, running around, staying active, but most of all having fun while playing rugby.”
The Games @ The Hub is one of many events that our Community Team will be dropping by this summer, so keep your eyes peeled and get involved if you can!
