Cockerill - The boys don't give up
Head Coach Richard Cockerill praised the never-say-die attitude of his squad as Edinburgh Rugby scored two late tries to earn a draw at Parc y Scarlets.
Jack Blain scored four minutes from time, before Boan Venter powered over the in the 82nd minute to make it 28-28.
"The boys don’t give up - last week was very similar," said Cockerill.
"I’d prefer not to be 14 points behind but the spirit of our team is never in question. I thought we did some very good things today.
"I thought it was a good game. Both teams entered into the spirit of it and we probably felt that we had more of the game than the scoreboard suggested."
With Edinburgh playing an open and expansive style of game in their final match of the season, several younger players stepped up and impressed throughout the entertaining contest.
Connor Boyle and Jack Blain both had a significant impact on the clash which sees the capital side finish the 2020-21 campaign on a high note.
"I'm delighted that we stayed in the game and we came back in the end because we probably deserved the draw in all fairness," continued Cockerill.
"I think we’ve all had tough seasons in various ways and us probably more than most. We’ve got a good core of players, we’ve got some new guys arriving.
"I think this is a really positive finish for us and we can build off this performance especially with our attack.
"We’ve been a little bit sloppy in our attack and it’s been a bit turgid but we’ve got good players and we want to expand our game.
"We’ve got the forward power, we had some real threat in the backline and in the end it was a positive performance, so I suppose it makes the trip home a bit easier."
