Bennett returns to Scotland squad for France test

Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend has picked 11 Edinburgh Rugby stars in his 23-man squad for Saturday's Guinness Six Nations clash against France at BT Murrayfield (26 February, kick-off 2.15pm) - with Mark Bennett in line for his first Scotland cap since 2018.

Bennett's form for Edinburgh has been nothing short of spectacular, and the centre - who captained Edinburgh for the first time last week - has seen his efforts rewarded with a recall to the Scotland squad, named as a replacement for Saturday's game.

Darcy Graham retains his starting berth on the right wing after scintillating performances against England and Wales.

In the pack, hooker Stuart McInally lines up alongside loosehead Pierre Schoeman in the front row, with Grant Gilchrist vice-captaining his country at lock. Gilchrist links up with incoming Edinburgh signing Sam Skinner to form the national team's engine room.

Magnus Bradbury will make his first start since 2020 at eight, and will be joined in the back-row by Hamish Watson at openside flanker.

Club centurion WP Nel is will add to his Scotland caps from the bench, as will lock Jamie Hodgson, who is set for his Six Nations debut. Back-rower Nick Haining returns to the Scotland squad, selected on the bench beside backs Blair Kinghorn and Mark Bennett.
