1872 Cup decider to be hosted at DAM Health Stadium
Next month’s 1872 Cup decider against Glasgow Warriors (Sunday 2 January, kick-off 2pm) will now be held at DAM Health Stadium, it was confirmed today.
The fixture – which will be played, to all intents and purposes, without fans or public admission – has been moved from BT Murrayfield following this week’s Scottish Government announcement confirming the return of crowd restrictions at outdoor public events.
Edinburgh Rugby remain unbeaten at DAM Health Stadium so far this season, recording three victories and a draw in four URC fixtures, while next month’s clash will be the first intercity derby to be hosted at a stadium that isn’t BT Murrayfield or Scotstoun since January 2012 (Firhill).
The match will be broadcast live on Premier Sports 1 – with coverage starting at 1pm, ahead of a 2pm kick-off – and BBC Radio Scotland, while supporters can keep up with the all the action via the club’s website and social channels.
