Edinburgh Rugby stars to feature in Doddie’s Club Trophy clash

Several Edinburgh Rugby stars have been selected to feature for FOSROC Super6 side Southern Knights in this Friday night’s Doddie’s Club Trophy clash with Newcastle Falcons at The Greenyards (Friday 29 October, kick-off 7.30pm).

The fixture – which has been set-up to raise money and awareness for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation – takes place players during the international break for the upcoming Autumn Nations Series.

Forwards Sam Grahamslaw, Adam McBurney, Dan Gamble, Jamie Campbell, Ben Muncaster and Connor Boyle will all feature at The Greenyards, as well as backs Henry Pyrgos, Charlie Savala, Cammy Scott, Jack Blain, Chris Dean, Matt Currie and Freddie Owsley.

Head Coach Mike Blair, said: “It’s really important that our players maintain their match sharpness during this international period, so it’s brilliant that we’ve been able to work with Rob [Chrystie] and Southern Knights to get our players involved in a really worthwhile and competitive fixture.

“Guys can only develop their game or improve their skills by playing competitive minutes and in Newcastle Falcons – who we know well from our pre-season match at DAM Health Stadium – our players will face quality opposition on a top-class surface at The Greenyards.

“The match will also raise money and awareness for My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, so we’d encourage the Edinburgh Rugby supporters to get down to Melrose on Friday night to cheer on the boys, while getting behind a really special and worthy cause.”

Tickets for the fixture are available here with U18s free, concessions £10 and general entry priced at £15. Supporters can also follow live match updates via the Southern Knights social channels.
