Edinburgh backed by record Season Ticket sales
Supporters have continued to back Edinburgh Rugby in numbers this season with the club recording record Season Ticket sales in 2019/20.
With 625 additional Season Ticket Membership purchasers on the current campaign – a 30% increase on last season’s total - it’s a clear indication of building support ahead of the club’s move to its new home on the back pitches of BT Murrayfield in 2020/21.
On the club’s record-breaking sales, Edinburgh Rugby Managing Director, Douglas Struth, said: “We’re hugely thankful to every single supporter who continues to back this club.
“Your support really does makes the difference and it’s massively vital to the success and development of Edinburgh Rugby.
“It’s great to see us continue to grow our support and that’s a credit to everyone involved with the club – fans, players and staff.
“It’s an exciting time to be an Edinburgh Rugby supporter, and we can’t thank you enough for joining us on this journey to be Home at Last.”
Supporters have already been treated to a series of entertaining performances at home this season, with the capital side running in 15 tries amid three wins at BT Murrayfield.
And, with the launch of a new Half-Season Ticket Membership this Monday 11 November, supporters will have the chance to get behind Richard Cockerill’s side in the New Year with home fixtures against Southern Kings, Agen, Connacht, Cardiff Blues, Benetton, Ospreys, Munster and the final 1872 Cup derby against Glasgow Warriors all included in the package.
In line with the club’s Season Ticket Membership benefits, supporters purchasing a Half-Season Ticket will also have priority access to the final 1872 Cup derby match against Glasgow Warriors, Guinness PRO14 Final Series fixtures and European Cup knock-out matches when appropriate.
The Half-Season Ticket package also gives exclusive access to Season Ticket Member events and competitions throughout the season.
Struth, added: “Purchasing a Season Ticket Membership remains the best way to secure your place in our new home in 2020/21.
“There really are some fantastic fixtures in the second-half of the season with Agen, Cardiff Blues, Munster all still to come BT Murrayfield – and, not to mention the final 1872 Cup derby of the year.
“With more limited capacity in our new stadium, I'd encourage all our fans who have not yet bought Season Tickets to get behind the club by securing a Half-Season Ticket this year."
