Pierre Schoeman fully cemented himself as a fan favourite in a debut season that saw him named in the Guinness PRO14 Dream Team.
Nicknamed 'The Greatest Schoeman', former South African U20 prop Schoeman joined the club in in the summer of 2018.
The loosehead penned a three-year-deal and joined the club from Super Rugby side Bulls. A product of Pretoria’s Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool, Schoeman represented South African Schools at early age before joining the Blue Bulls in 2010.
Schoeman enjoy a ferocious start to life in Edinburgh, making his first start for the club against Ospreys in August 2018, before scoring his first try for the club in the home victory over Connacht in September 2018.
Schoeman was named man of the match in the 1872 Cup retaining win over Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun in December 2018, before playing an intergral role in the back-to-back Heineken Champions Cup victories over RC Toulon and Montpellier.
The prop picked up both the Player of the Year and Best Newcomer at the club's annual End of Season Awards in 2019, capping off a stellar debut campaign in the capital.
Schoeman made his 50th appearance for the club away to Leinster during the 2020-21 season.
