The 6ft 5in Fijian Sevens star joined Edinburgh ahead of the 2019/20 campaign after an exhilarating career on the World Rugby Sevens Series.
Kunavula – who can play across the back-row – made his Sevens debut at the 2016 Dubai leg – a tournament in which Fiji finished runners-up after falling short against South Africa in the final.
The back-row was named in the Fiji Sevens squad for the 2018 Commonwealth Games held on Australia’s Gold Coast and finished the tournament with a silver medal as the South Sea Islanders were pipped by New Zealand.
Kunavula’s cousin, Waisake Naholo, has featured 27-times for the All Blacks and plays professionally with the Highlanders in Super Rugby.
The back-row scored his first try for the club in the Guinness PRO14 match against Dragons at the Principality Stadium in March 2021.
