Argentinian playmaker Juan Pablo Socino penned a two-year-deal to join the Edinburgh in the summer of 2018
The centre made his debut for the club against Leinster at the RDS Arena in September 2018 and provided a spark from the bench throughout the 2018/19 campaign.
Socino – who can also operate at stand-off – has been capped four times by Argentina and was a key figure in Los Pumas successful 2015 World Cup campaign in which they reached the semi-final stages.
The playmaker joined Newcastle Falcons in 2014 and has since made 87 appearances for the Kingston Park outfit, scoring 166 points in the process. After earning international honours for Argentina at both U19 and U20 levels, as well as Argentina Jaguars, Socino joined English Championship side Rotherham Titans in 2010.
It was at Clifton Lane where the Argentinian garnered a reputation for his abrasive, but skilful style of play. In two spells at the South Yorkshire club – with a single season at Nottingham in between - Socino notched an impressive 631 points in just 56 appearances.
After winning the Golden Boot and being named RFU Championship Player of the Season in 2014, Socino joined Newcastle Falcons where he cemented himself as one of the Premiership side’s most consistent performers during the 2017/18 season.
