Chris Leck was one of Michael Bradley’s first signings at Edinburgh Rugby, joining from Sale Sharks at the same time as fellow Shark, Sean Cox, in the summer of 2011.
Similarly to Cox, Leck has been a very popular addition to the squad, earning a two year extension to his initial one-year contract.
Despite battling for selection with Scotland half-backs Greig Laidlaw and Mike Blair, Leck has grasped the chance to showcase his busy style and pin-point delivery to great effect during the international window.
Leck took up rugby at the tender age of four at local club, Calderdale RFC, in Burnley, before moving into secondary school rugby Rossall School and linked club, Preston Grasshoppers, which formed part of the early development stages of the Sale Sharks Academy.
It was during this time that Leck was selected for the Yorkshire district side (which he represented into senior rugby) as well as the England under-16 and under-18 representative sides before signing a full-time Academy contract with Sale aged 18.
Coming from both a rugby and musical family, Chris’ father (Phil) and brother (Dom) also played district rugby, representing Yorkshire and Lancashire respectively, while the trio also form part of a family band with Chris playing the drums and his father and brother playing the guitar
