The Team - Back Three

Tom Brown made his Edinburgh Rugby debut against Leinster at Murrayfield in September 2010, and impressed sufficiently throughout the rest of the campaign to earn a two-year contract extension in March the following year.

A former pupil of Law Primary School in North Berwick and Edinburgh Academy, Tom has represented charted his progress through Scotland's representative teams, starting with Scotland U17, U18, U19 and U20.

Tom traveled with the Scotland under-20 team to Japan for the 2009 IRB Junior World Championship where he played three matches however, because of his age and ability, he was eligible to return for the 2010 6 Nations and started in every match – among the highlights of this were his impressive performance away to Cardiff at the Arms Park where he scored both of the side’s tries before being selected for and starting all but one of Scotland’s 2010 IRB Junior World Championship matches in Argentina.

In 2011 Tom followed up two appearances for the Scotland Club International side against France and Ireland with a place in the the Scotland 7s squad for the London and Edinburgh legs of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

In the likes of fellow back-three men Chris Paterson and Jim Thompson, the youngster can call upon expert advice as he makes his way in the game, with the most recent feather in his cap a starting spot in Scotland A's 35-0 win over England Saxons at Netherdale in Fenruary 2012.
