Rugby fans will have the chance to savour Murrayfield from a unique vantage point while raising vital funds for the treatment of Cystic Fibrosis when a charity abseil takes place at the national stadium on Sunday 15 April.
Participants will ascend to the roof of the west stand, above the players’ tunnel, before making the 100-foot journey to the pitchside track below in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The abseil is now open for entries, and with numbers limited, supporters are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. All that’s asked of participants is a one-off £15 entry fee, and a pledge to raise at least £100 in sponsorship.

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited diseases, claiming two lives a week. Cystic Fibrosis is caused by a defective gene that results in the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, becoming clogged with thick sticky mucus resulting in chronic infections and inflammation in the lungs and difficulty absorbing food.
The CF Trust provides help, support and advice to families affected by CF and funds ground-breaking research to find a treatment that will improve and lengthen the lives of people with CF.
Warriors head coach Sean Lineen said: “This is a great way for people to see Murrayfield like they’ve never seen it before, and support a great charity into the bargain.
“The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a cause that’s very close to our hearts as a club, and I’m sure supporters from across the country will take the chance to get behind it and enjoy a pretty special day out in the process."
June Ross, fundraising manager for the CF Trust in Scotland, said: "The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is delighted to be offering this unique opportunity for abseilers and rugby fans alike. As part of our official charity partnership with Glasgow Warriors, we are looking for 200 people to take up the abseil challenge and raise vital funds.
“Initial interest in the event has been really positive, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day.”
