Nick De Luca breaks against CardiffThe schedule for Edinburgh Rugby’s pursuit of a place among European rugby’s elite was confirmed today by tournament organisers, ERC.

Three wins from four puts Edinburgh Rugby joint top of Pool 2 with Cardiff Blues, as the capital club go into rounds five and six seeking to advance to the knockout stages of European competition.

To do so Edinburgh must first travel to Paris for a rematch with Racing Metro at the Stade Yves du Manoir on Friday 13 January (kick-off 8pm GMT, 9pm local, SkySports red button).

The capital club will then entertain London Irish in front of their home support, in the last match of the Pool, on Sunday 22 January (kick-off 3.15pm).

Edinburgh Rugby reached a season record of 5809 supporters at the club's first Heineken home game and, with so much at stake, are predicting more magic at Murrayfield for the big finish against London Irish.

In the Heineken Cup, the six pool winners will qualify for the knock-out phase along with the two leading runners-up, with the four leading clubs among the eight qualifiers enjoying home advantage in the quarter-finals.

The three next best Heineken Cup pool runners-up will also have the opportunity to continue their European campaign with qualification for the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-finals, where they will meet the five Amlin Pool winners in the race for silverware.
