Edinburgh Rugby players brought festive cheer to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh today as they delivered Christmas gifts to the brave young patients of one of the club’s official charity partners, the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.
Speaking at the Hospital, full-back, Jim Thompson, paid tribute to the generosity of the club’s supporters.
He said: “The Sick Kids Friends Foundation is a well-known and established charity in the city and we’re very proud to come here today bearing the gifts donated by our fans, staff and fellow players.
“It’s been a great day, the kids’ faces lit up when we arrived with the presents so a huge thank you to everyone who got involved.”
Maureen Harrison, chief executive of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation, said: “I’d like to extend my thanks on behalf of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation to the club and its supporters for their generosity and thought at this important time of year.
“The children loved getting these gifts hand delivered from the players today and made a great day extra special for the youngsters in the hospital.”
