A fortnight today Edinburgh Rugby will be back in action against another formidable Irish opponent; Heineken Cup champions Leinster on Friday 28 October.
As the match falls on the spookiest weekend of the year, Halloween, we want you to help us put the frighteners on Leinster by coming in fancy dress and earn the chance to win a great prize!
The three best dressed will be invited on to the Murrayfield pitch at half-time to play our big-screen game ‘Beat the Bandit’ with the winner taking home a pair of tickets to the next TWO Heineken Cup home matches -- against Racing Metro and Cardiff Blues! GET IN THERE!
The club has a good home record against Irish opposition this season with a 19-14 win over Connacht followed up with a 29-14 win over the then unbeaten and table-topping champions, Munster. The capital club can also reflect positively on the last time Edinburgh and Leinster met at Murrayfield when Geoff Cross, Tim Visser, Mark Robertson and David Blair all crossed the whitewash on the way to a 32-24 bonus-point victory.
Now, with the Rugby World Cup players returning to the fold, preparation for the match and competition for places is hotting up. Over 3600 supporters made the Munster match a great night at Murrayfield so hopefully we’ll see you all again in a fortnight’s time!
