Black and Red radio caught up with Edinburgh Rugby captain, Greig Laidlaw, after his man of the match winning performance in the club’s 20-17 win over Newcastle Falcons at Murrayfield.
The feisty scrum-half played out the match for an hour at nine before moving to full-back, where he continued his fine form – scoring all but five of Edinburgh Rugby’s points on the day, scoring one try, creating another and slotting the long-range kick to win the match.
Laidlaw said: “I was happy with my first half at scrum-half and think I caused them a few problems around the breakdown so I was delighted with that.
“Two wins from two is always good but I’d like to reiterate that these are only pre-season games and we now need to go on and win the first league game – that’s the big one.

“I think the crowd were fantastic, the boys really like the new set-up with the crow on the east stand and people standing around the pitch and I think the crowd seemed to enjoy it as well so hopefully that’s something we can build on in the weeks to come.”
