Edinburgh Rugby can confirm that discussions are ongoing with Murrayfield Wanderers over the hosting of a matchday supporter bar facility in their clubhouse, situated adjacent to the national stadium.
These discussions have been extremely positive, and we hope to be in a position to further update supporters in the very near future.
Craig Docherty, the Edinburgh chief executive, said: “We’re excited about what Murrayfield Wanderers have to offer, and are seeking as quick a resolution as possible so that our supporters can begin to enjoy the facilities.
“Providing final agreement is reached, we anticipate being able to welcome supporters to the clubhouse from the Magners League match against Benetton Treviso on Friday 5 November.
“Our intention in the interim would be to undertake refurbishment work in the clubhouse to ensure it becomes an atmospheric environment for our fans. This work would include the introduction of Edinburgh branding.
“I’d like to once again put on record my appreciation for the supporters' on-going patience and co-operation as we formalise the best way of continuing to provide an enviable standard of match-day experience.”
For the home Heineken Cup game against Northampton Saints on Saturday 16 October (kick-off 1.30pm), supporters are invited to use the bar facilities in the Rowan Suite, at the north end of Murrayfield Stadium. Additional service points and Edinburgh branding have been introduced to the facility to help generate a clubhouse feel.
Premium season ticket holders are advised that the Premium Lounge will be located in the Murrayfield Boxes (also situated at the north end of the stadium) for the remainder of the current season.
