Edinburgh flanker Alan MacDonald has brought a novel element to his preparations for Saturday’s Murrayfield Magners League clash with Scarlets (kick-off 6.30pm), visiting Snappy Soles in Ocean Terminal for a fish pedicure.

The exotic exfoliation, which sees a shoal of tiny Garra Rufa fish nibble away the dead skin on the customer’s feet, has fast become a hugely popular treatment, and MacDonald was more than happy to endorse its merits after being given the once over by Leith’s finest finned therapists.

“It’s a really fun thing to do once you get used to the idea, and your feet come away feeling absolutely brilliant,” confirmed the Scotland back-row man.

If you fancy having a go yourself, our friends at Snappy Soles are offering a 10% discount on the treatment to Edinburgh season ticket holders. To receive the discount, simply present your season ticket book when you visit their outlet in Ocean Terminal (located opposite Gap).
