David Denton with his first Scotland cap
Newly capped David Denton stands proud

Edinburgh tyro David Denton had a day to remember as he made his Scotland debut and helped Andy Robinson's team to a dramatic 10-6 win over Ireland in the EMC Test at Murrayfield.

Winning a first international cap is another milestone in a productive few months for the back-row forward, who enjoyed a storming run in the Edinburgh side at the tail end of the last campaign.

In an exclusive interview with www.scotlandrugbyteam.org Denton said: "I'm absolutely buzzing; it's a great feeling.

"There were a few mistakes in our performance, but you expect that in the first game of the season. There were a lot of positives, and it's great to get the win. From my own point of view, I've got to work hard to try and get into the team, and also get my carries up, but today was a great feeling."
