Edinburgh’s three-day visit to St Andrews was a great success on several fronts. The squad enjoyed a number of gym and rugby sessions ahead of the new season, and, on Wednesday afternoon, helped scores of children from the Fife area improve their rugby skills.
Players were posted at each stop on a circuit of stations and gave the youngsters advice on such matters as passing, movement and tackling. BBC ALBA, who will providing live coverage of a number of the club’s Magners League games this season, were on hand to film the event and also spent time tracking the players’ efforts in the gym, not to mention the kitchens of their self-catering accommodation. Ross Samson’s fajitas were particularly well received. Keep an eye out for the footage early in the coming season.
