Edinburgh head coach Rob Moffat admits he is looking forward to seeing Chris Paterson back in the Black and Red ahead of the re-start of the Magners League programme at Scarlets on Friday (4 December, kick off 7.05pm, live on BBC Wales) after the full-back missed the team’s last match through injury.
Fans’ favourite Paterson, who has contributed an impressive 73 points so far this season, was withdrawn from the starting line-up which faced the Dragons after falling victim to a foot infection.
But the 31-year-old has now recovered and scored the winning drop-goal for Scotland against Argentina during the Autumn Test series and Moffat, who has worked on-and-off with Paterson for the past two decades, believes his availability is a real boost. Moffat said: “Chris is a tough competitor. He went through a pretty rough spell with that problem with his foot, but he is back now looking really sharp.
“I’m sure he is looking to get back playing at a really high level for us in December and we look forward to him coming back. He is a very good role model and he understands what professional rugby is all about.”
