Heriot's and National Academy flanker, Chris Fusaro, joined laying representatives from the three Scottish teams (Ayr, Gael Force and Heriot’s) entering the inaugural British and Irish Cup to kick-start their drive for local support.
The British and Irish Cup is the only opportunity to see cross-border club rugby in November and Fusaro was quick to call on the Edinburgh rugby community to back the team as they take on the English Championship and back-up Magners League sides, including league champions Munster and Heineken Cup champions Leinster.

Fusaro, said: “With both pro teams off for the whole of November it’s a great opportunity for the Edinburgh rugby community to get together at Goldenacre to support Heriot’s in their first game against Nottingham (Saturday 21 November, kick-off 2pm).
“For the majority of the players, the British and Irish Cup is going to be a step up and I think they’ll definitely benefit from it. A big home support is really important as the players can feed off that and put in a good performance.”
Scottish Hydro Cup holders Heriot’s qualified for the competition by finishing second in Premier One and are first to host British and Irish Cup opposition when they take on Nottingham at Goldenacre on Saturday 21 November (kick-off 2pm).
