With less than three weeks to go until the glamour game at Bath, the countdown to Edinburgh's new season is well and truly underway. The squad are heading to St Andrews on Tuesday for a three-day camp that will see them compete against one another in the gym, tackle a number of rugby sessions, and help some 300 children from the Fife area improve their basic skills in a community session on Wednesday.
The players are staying in five-man apartments, each of which will have a nominated chef responsible for preparing meals. The coaching staff believe the arrangements will be good for team bonding, giving the club's host of new players the ideal opportunity to get to know their colleagues better.

YOUR first Murrayfield chance to clap eyes on all the newbies is the London Irish friendly on Friday 27 August (kick-off 7.30pm). Coming just a week before the Magners League opener away to Cardiff, the match will see the last few tweaks and bits of fine-tuning ahead of the competitive action. Tickets for the clash with the Aviva Premiership side are priced just £10 for adults and £5 for under-18s and concessions. Season ticket holders, who get entry to the game as part of their package, can bring along two mates or family members for FREE.

The fantastic Edinburgh Crew deal, that allows an adult and child to watch all the Magners League and Heineken Cup fare for just £200, is already proving popular.
Roddy Grant, who was last week announced as Edinburgh captain for season 2010/11, believes there have never been more reasons for supporters to commit to the capital club. He said: "You can already see the effect that the arrival of guys like Esteban Lozada, Netani Talei and Alex Grove has had on the group. We already had an exciting squad, but the level of competition there now is really something. If pre-season training is anything to go by, it's going to be an intense old year as everyone tries to get in the team. Our performances can only get better with that level of competition going on behind the scenes."
