Edinburgh colours will soon be sighted in even more rugby fields across the land after Neil Carrie, Scottish Rugby’s community rugby project development manager, came up with an imaginative way of utilising surplus kit. Neil who works with Scottish Rugby’s network of regional (RDM) and national development managers to grow the game in clubs and schools, has distributed among this team a variety of Edinburgh-branded items. The kit will be passed on to volunteers, who play such an important role in developing rugby in their areas, as thanks for their endeavours, and in order that they can have a taste of life in the black and red.
Neil said: “The volunteers on the ground do an incredible amount of work to ensure that Scottish kids are introduced to the game and then stick with it. Giving them this kit is a nice way of recognising the effort they put in.”
Among the items distributed were playing shirts and shorts, tracksuit bottoms, jackets, gym vests, swim shorts, t-shirts, cycle shorts and boot bags.
