Andy Robinson has issued a rallying cry to the Edinburgh supporters ahead of the team’s final home match in the Heineken Cup against Castres on Friday (16 January, kick off 7.30pm) by saying: Come and back the team.

The way the fixture list has panned out means that Edinburgh haven’t got another home match until the visit of Connacht in March.

As a result Robinson says he wants the team to finish on a high note before the start of the Six Nations. To watch the next chapter in Edinburgh's European adventure please call 0131 346 5180 (Adults: £20, Concessions (students, OAPS): £10, Juniors: £5) and become part of a team an inspirational capital can be proud of.

Robinson said: “This is our last home game until March, so it would be great to see as many supporters as possible at the match.

“The support is up on last year and that level of growth helps everything at the club to move forward.

“In terms of growth – for the team, the support and the whole club in general – it is about making gradual steps and not about making massive jumps.

“It is about carefully laying the foundations and then building on that. There will always be a few backwards steps along the way, but as long as we are making progress then everything can grow. I hope our supporters can recognise that.

“There may not mean be anything at stake in this game in terms of qualification, but it promises to be a great spectacle.

“Castres will play some outstanding rugby this weekend an it will probably be a game for for the rugby connoisseurs, who will come and watch a French team play with a lot of flair.”
