Michael Bradley named an extended squad todayHead coach Michael Bradley today named and extended 27-man Edinburgh Rugby squad for the side’s opening encounter in the 2011/12 Heineken Cup at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday (kick-off 1.30pm).

“It’s a different tournament to the RaboDirect PRO12 in the sense that it’s a cup competition so you have to focus in on that basis. With only six games to make it count, you’re under pressure to get some points away from home as well as win your home games. There is very little room for mistakes” said Bradley.

“I was pleased with the consistency and patience in attack in the win over Treviso last weekend, so I don’t think there’ll be a change in terms of how we address this match or in the way we play but there is plenty of scope for improvement in our overall performance.

“If we can get parity in the forwards I’ll be happy enough as I’d back the style and manner in which we can play as a team in attack, balancing that with our attitude in defence when London Irish have the ball.

“Like all cup matches the form book goes out the window and the side that is most accurate will win on the day.”
