Interim head coach Nick Scrivener has been speaking to Black and Red Radio in the wake of his first game in charge, a 30-22 Magners League defeat to Dragons at Rodney Parade.

Scrivener discusses his frustration at how a lack of ball retention in the set piece and the tackle undermined Edinburgh’s otherwise promising efforts in attack, and vows to bring about a tighter performance against Munster at Thomond Park on Friday (kick-off 7.50pm, live on BBC ALBA).

Scrivener said: “We showed that if we get enough ball, we can use it, but we didn’t maintain enough pressure for long enough. Dragons had the lion’s share of possession, the upper hand in the set piece and had a lot of ball on the front foot due to our turnovers.

“We had opportunities to put pressure on them but we couldn’t build it. Nobody is feeling sorry for us, and we’re certainly not feeling sorry for ourselves. We know what areas we need to improve.”
