NEWS | WP Nel to start in 6 Nations finale

Head Coach Gregor Townsend has named four Edinburgh players in the Scotland team to start this Saturday’s final 2018 NatWest 6 Nations Test against Italy in Rome (17 March, kick-off 12.30pm GMT) – live on ITV.

An altered front-row sees hooker Stuart McInally drop to the bench in favour of Glasgow Warriors’ Fraser Brown, whilst WP Nel makes his first start of the campaign at tighthead.

In the back-row, the impressive Hamish Watson once against starts at openside flanker, whist Blair Kinghorn – a try scorer in last weekend’s loss to Ireland – and the aforementioned McInally are both named amongst the replacements.

Scotland Head Coach, Gregor Townsend, said: “We’ve had a deeper look at the Ireland game, where we performed well in areas that will have to be better this weekend.

"There were a number of positives in how we took the game to Ireland in attack and defence but this didn’t lead to us scoring enough points to win the game.

"We’ve been pleased with how the players have responded to last week’s disappointment, with the energy they have brought to training and a determination to improve our performance in our final match in this year’s NatWest 6 Nations."
