NEWS | Edinburgh welcomes its first Community Champions

Edinburgh welcomes its first Community Champions to Myreside this weekend as we take on London Irish in the European Challenge Cup.

Lasswade RFC volunteer Neil Sutherland; Leith Girls coach Kenny Milne; East Lothian Girls coaches Craig Robertson and Roger Wood; and Royal High School MA Emma Turner will all be in attendance at Saturday’s match in recognition of the work that they’ve done within the grassroots rugby community.

All five of our Community Champions were put forward by their respective clubs and will enjoy our pre-match hospitality.

Edinburgh Community Coach, Connor Weetman, said: “We really appreciate the work that these guys do for their local clubs in and around Edinburgh.

“Without their assistance, there simply wouldn’t be as many opportunities to play the game. A lot of the work they do can often go unseen, so it’s great that we can reward them as our first Community Champions.”
