NEWS | Hooker McInally commits his future to Edinburgh

Edinburgh have re-signed Scotland international hooker Stuart McInally, with the 27-year-old extending his stay with the club for a further two years.

A product of George Watsons, McInally joined his hometown team in 2010 and has since gone on to make 110 appearances for the club. After beginning his career in the back-row, McInally made the bold switch to the front-row in 2013 and has subsequently cemented himself as one of Edinburgh’s most consistent performers.

McInally, who scored a brace of tries in his Man of the Match performance for Scotland against Samoa at the weekend, said: “I’m extremely pleased to be staying in Edinburgh. It’s an exciting time to be part of the team and I feel we have strong foundations in place to move the club forward over the next few years."

Edinburgh Head Coach Richard Cockerill added: “Stuart McInally has been Scotland’s form hooker and I’m delighted that he sees his future in Edinburgh.

“We’re building a strong culture and environment here and Stuart is very much central to those plans.”
