NEWS | Thirteen Edinburgh players included in Scotland squad for Autumn Tests

Head Coach Gregor Townsend has named 13 Edinburgh players in his 36-man Scotland squad for next month’s Autumn Tests.

The national squad check into camp next week to begin preparations for games against Samoa, New Zealand and Australia.

Of the 10 uncapped players named in the squad, four arrive from Edinburgh, with Nathan Fowles, Darryl Marfo, Phil Burleigh and Jamie Ritchie all selected for the upcoming tests.

Ritchie and Burleigh have previous experience of training with the Scotland squad during the team’s Summer Camp to St Andrews.

Prop Marfo has impressed at Edinburgh since arriving from Bath at the start of the season, featuring in every game so far this season. Born in London, he is eligible to play for Scotland through his mother, who is from Ayr.

Fowles joined Edinburgh in 2015, initially on a three-month loan from Sale Sharks, before committing to the club full-time ahead of the 2015/16 season, making 51 appearances so far.
