Edinburgh Rugby overturned champions and unbeaten league-leaders Munster in front of a 3467 crowd at Murrayfield tonight (29-14).
The home side dominated for large spells and took the game to their opponents, with tries from Matt Scott and Steven Lawrie, and 19 points from the boot of captain, Greig Laidlaw, guiding Michael Bradley’s men to victory.
Bradley said: "We're delighted with the win tonight and our two tries were exceptional.
"Edinburgh Rugby attacking at pace and defending with urgency are a great sight to behold so it was great to do that in front of a good crowd at Murrayfield tonight - the atmosphere was superb made all the better by a good win."
Laidlaw kicked the hosts into a 9-0 lead early on, before a break from man of the match winner, David Denton, before the ball was shipped to birthday boy centre Matt Scott, 21, who then dummied and cut inside, before palming off two Munster defenders to score under the posts.
The captain then added the extras to put daylight between the sides, 16-0.
Munster responded in typical fashion, grinding their way into position and forcing penalties. Stand-off Ian Keatley landed three to reduce the deficit to seven points at the interval.

In the second period, the home side again started brighter, as the match followed a familiar pattern.
Laidlaw added a further penalty before a break from Lee Jones, carved out by a superb turnover in Edinburgh’s own 22, allowed hooker Steven Lawrie to go over, 26-9.
Munster replied with a try from Danny Barnes at the corner going into the final 10 minutes but the home side banked the victory when Laidlaw added a further penalty to secure the win.
