The opening leg of the Greaves Sports 1872 Cup, between Glasgow and Edinburgh, will take place at Firhill tomorrow (27 December, kick off 3.05pm, coverage starts on STV at 2.40pm) and it promises to be a special event in the Scottish sporting calendar.

Despite the recent extreme weather conditions, the match will take place. Magners League leaders Glasgow will be aiming to reclaim the trophy from holders Edinburgh, currently second in Celtic rugby’s standings, in front of a sizeable crowd.
