Jack Cosgrove

Jack Cosgrove joined Edinburgh Rugby on a two-year contract, aligned as a BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy player, at the start of this season from the Worcester club.

He made his Edinburgh Rugby debut in the win over Romania on 21 August at the Greenyards, Melrose after spending a full pre-season with the capital club - and celebrated his 21st birthday at pre-season camp in St Andrews!

Cosgrove has nine caps for Scotland under-20 – playing in four of the 2014 6 Nations fixtures and throughout the Junior World Championship in New Zealand.

Born in Coventry, Cosgrove attended Coundon Court School – alma mater of Scotland international Jim Hamilton – then Hartpury College, before joining Worcester Warriors Academy in 2013.

He made his first-team debut, off the bench, against Sale Sharks in January 2014 and had loan spells at Doncaster Knights, Malvern RFC and Barker Butts RFC – the club where the aforementioned Hamilton learnt his trade.

Cosgrove, whose dad Craig played for Coventry RFC, qualifies for Scotland through his granddad, born in Newtongrange, just outside Edinburgh.

Jack is currently on loan to London Scottish (from December 2015).
