ImageAndrew Turnbull and Simon Webster both scored stunning second half tries to ensure Edinburgh defeated European Challenge Cup winners Bath at The Rec on Friday night and the men in the Black and Red go into next Friday's opening Magners League match against Munster (Friday 5 September, kick off 7.30pm) undefeated.

Despite going behind 8-0 early on, Edinburgh rallied round and produced an accomplished collective team performance against one of the top sides from down south.

Chris Paterson is making his first start in the Black and Red since April 2007 scored three first half penalties to give Edinburgh the lead at Bath in the final pre-season friendly.

After the break, Edinburgh hit Bath on the counter-attack and scored a try with some expertly executed first phase play. David Callam intercepted a pass and then hoofed the ball down the pitch where Webster collected it and raced through to score.

Blair provided the killer pass for Turnbull to cross the whitewash and to conclude the scoring in a fascinating match.

Captain Mike Blair and vice captain Allister Hogg both return to the side after missing Saturday’s win over London Wasps.
