For the first time in the Club’s 79-year history, the membership of Preston Lodge RFC voted to appoint a Lady President – Mrs Shona Brash – at the Annual General Meeting held on Sunday 18th May. Shona is a well known face in and around Prestonpans due to her involvement and interest in many community projects, as well as managing and running the Links Road Garage in Port Seton with husband Jim, daughter Nicola and son Jonathan. Following on from their recent success in winning the S.H.E. Scottish Bowl, PLRFC are already looking forward to the new season and are confident of future success under Shona’s dynamic leadership. Shona said: "The challenges ahead are many but we are a great community Club and we showed what is possible at the end of last season, not just by producing a great performance on the pitch at Murrayfield but in the way everybody at the Club pulled together to make sure that it was a day to remember. “I want to make sure that the momentum that we built up at that time continues into next season and beyond and ensure that we go forward on a secure financial footing while enjoying ourselves both on and off the pitch.” |
