CLUB AMBASSADORS MEETING PDF Print
Thursday, 29 May 2008

Edinburgh Rugby Club had their first meeting of club ambassadors last night (Tuesday 27th May) at Murrayfield Stadium.  Edinburgh has decided to have an ambassador in each local club so that we have a point of contact there, so that he/she can distribute information to all sections within the club and to be a link between Edinburgh Rugby Club and the club itself.

These meetings happen quarterly so that Edinburgh’s Community Manager Linda Gordon can update the ambassadors with what is happening in Edinburgh and vice versa.  Linda said “I am looking forward to forcing strong ties with Edinburgh Rugby and the clubs and wishing them all a very successful season”.

Shona Brash from Preston Lodge commented “A quick thank you for Tuesday night - thoroughly enjoyed the social, meeting new people and the very generous link up offered with Edinburgh Rugby”.

Shona Scott from Musselburgh RFC added “I'd just like to say thank you for last night’s get-together. I found it very interesting and can't wait to work along side Edinburgh Rugby in promoting the game”.

Gordon Haggart from Currie RFC said “I thought the Ambassadors meeting was received very well by the clubs attending.  Certainly, the more the clubs put into it the more responsive Edinburgh will be and the more we will both get out of it”.

The line-up of the below picture is as follows:

Back Row (left to right) – George Lambie (Heriots), Mark Billingham (Lasswade), Iain Berthinussen (Edinburgh BATS), Murdo Gillanders (Lismore) and John Wright (Edinburgh Accies).

Front Row (left to right) – Gordon Haggart (Currie), Shona Brash (Preston Lodge), Shona Scott (Musselburgh), Fred Rae (Grangemouth) and Alan Bradshaw (Fife Southern).
